Project 2 - Data Collection
INSTRUCTIONS
Task 2: Data Collection
After we were done with our task 1: proposal presentation we waited
for our feedback from Ms. Anis about our proposal before proceeding
task 2 which is data collection. Before we have our next meeting we
agreed to prepare more questions and also some info about people
that we can interview on.
Data collection methods
- Questionnaire form
- Online interviews
- Asking on forum websites (Reddit): Netnography
- Online articles and literary materials
7th meeting (24/1/2022)
We wrote down more questions down for the questionnaire form and
took out the ones that would not work. Then we also listed out some
potential people that we could interview on. After we got
confirmation from the interviewee side that they are okay with doing
the interview, we wrote down the questions that we wanted to ask
them. We also asked them if they were comfortable of doing an
interview on Zoom with us or are they more comfortable with replying
in WhatsApp and Gmail instead. Our interviewees preferred answering
through Whatsapp and Gmail so Yi Ki send out the questions and
received answers from her relative while Kai Jun did the same with
her friend.

After that on the (25/1/2022) we posted the questions that we
prepared and posted it on Reddit. On the (26/1/2022) we double check
the google form questions and arrangement before sharing the
questionnaire google form link on our own personal social media
platform to get answers from the people. Other than that we still
had to find the online articles and literary materials.
8th meeting (28/1/2022)
We all pasted the links of the online articles and literary materials
that we found and discuss together about it. After that we looked
through briefly on the answers that we got from the questionnaire
form, interview and Reddit then we separated into three groups where
we had to breakdown and summarize the answers. Me and Nitish was in
charge of the questionnaire form, Yi Ki and Hoda was in charge of the
interview and Kai Jun and Honoka took the Reddit answers to break
down.

(28/1/2022)
We then summarize our findings of the online articles and literary
materials and also added citations. One of our group mate Hoda had
to leave so Kai Jun helped Yi Ki with the interview questions
summary instead. After we finished with all the summaries with the
questions and answers that we gathered through the data collection
we did. We also wrote down another summary of our data collection as
a brief of what we have and also came up with a conclusion
together.
Before we presented our slides I decided to help out in decorating
it and organizing it so that it looks more put together and overall
more pleasing to look at.
Script
As usual we divided the slides among the members on who
should present which part and wrote our script down into the
google docs. We made sure our presentation time does not go over the time limit and keep track on our estimated time. The highlighted parts are where I have to click next slide during our presentation.

FEEDBACK
Week 5 (31/1/2022)
Great findings, really enjoyed reading the analysis as conclusion
from the findings, maybe try to sum it up in terms of cultural
perception like the fact that the believe in protection using evil is nothing new, you can see this practiced
across different cultures and its even more prevalent now because
of current situation etc. So you can tie it up to your proposed
design project on the tarot cards.
REFLECTION
One of our group members had to leave so we end up being a group of 5 instead. As some might think that we are short handed, I think it was better like this since that member did not help much in the first place anyways, trying to make that group member to do their task was draining the life force out of me. Data collecting was a bit of a headache for me since we had to come up with a lot of questions to ask the people. But I enjoyed reading the feedback and answers given by the people from the questionnaire form, it was really nice seeing people's different perspective on things. The online article and literary materials took me quite some time to find the right one that linked to our topic but with the help of each of my members we were able to get everything done.
