I developed a font called "Raven Goth" and it is applied to my own artworks to further promote my art account which has the username "Kaen Hibana" that is an alternative name that I came up for myself, which explains why the name is applied to all of the artworks. I placed the fonts onto my artwork and made them into art posters, artbook covers, and also merchandise which will be useful for me in the future since I am planning to open an art shop to sell my artworks.
All artworks used are done by me, you can also check them out at @kaenhibana

REFLECTIONS
Experiences
Surprisingly, Advanced Typography was less stressful than Typography, I was apprehensive at first since I expected to be under double the amount of pressure as Typography, but it was much more relaxed and uninhibited. In comparison to Typography, we had fewer constraints to adhere to. But the difficulty I had with Typography was most likely due to the fact that I was still unfamiliar with all of the software, which made my brain hurt so much. Every activity we were assigned was enjoyable to do, yet it was time-consuming and tedious. The one thing I did not really enjoy was the number of holidays that we got it was like 3 Mondays? I like holidays but having to worry about my progression and not getting feedback for my task made me not want a holiday at all. I rather work to the bone and go into hibernation after I am done with all my work.
Observation
Both Typography and Advanced Typography had such an impact on me that now whenever I walk or drive by a shop, my eyes are drawn to the logo, which serves as inspiration for my work and also made my sister worry that I was a workaholic. I'm not particularly good at choosing colours, so coming up with the proper colour palette was a challenge. I had to use the Adobe colour wheel, Pinterest colour palettes, and even anime characters to get a sense of what colours went together best. My favorite task is definitely task 1 exercise 2 because of my love for Photoshop, I still find Illustrator to be a pain for me because of how time-consuming it takes to create something.
Findings
I've found that designing typefaces can be a lot of fun if you have a clear idea and goal in mind. It aids in increasing motivation to complete the task and obtain the desired results as quickly as possible. I also discovered an amazing thing when doing the collateral for task 2, MOCKUP FILES. Who would have known there was such a blessing out there, it was beneficial and yielded fantastic outcomes. And when it comes to the curse portion, Font Forge.......
I despise it completely.
